{ Impression Obsession DT challenge - Lazy Days of Summer }

Hello and welcome to another Impression Obsession DT challenge. You know, we have challenges every other week - DETAILS HERE - if you play you could win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

For this card I wanted to try a round card for the Mojo Monday 145 sketch. It is so easy now that I have my Cricut Expression. I used scalloped circle Nestie SVG file from Penny Duncan Creations. Using my SCAL I welded the two shapes together to make a card. The Core'dinations cardstock is embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder.

 I stamped blue patterned paper with Cover-a-Card Distressed Corduroy (CC047) using blue ink. I love the way that looks and I will be using that stamp again! The yellow crepe paper is left over from my Summer Mini kit  that I am giving away.

Flower 1 (C5571) was stamped with Scarlet Glimmer Mist and cut out. It was left over from another project. I added Sunshine Yellow Flower Soft to the flower center.
The butterfly is from Lucky Ladybugs stamp set (CL208). I added Sunshine Yellow, Delphinium Blue and Sage Ultra Fina Flower Soft to the butterfly.

The Journaling I (WP165) note background is stamped with Cover-a-card Roses (CC043). The sentiment is from Summer Seals (CL107) stamp set . I tucked a little stamped scallop behind the flower and that is from Happiness Is? (CL122).

Wow, how many stamp sets did I use? My favorites are always around so I reach for them. Plus, when I make things I experiment and save little bits and pieces that I later use on other projects. Flower, journaling note and the scalloped circle...all left over from different projects.

{ The Cutting Cafe' butterfly card }

I used my Cricut Expression to cut the butterfly card shape. I embossed the front of the card with Cuttlebug embossing folder. I cut two different size butterflies for the top. I use my SCAL software to resize those files to any size that I want.
I stitched around the edges of the top butterfly with floss. The flowers are from Flower Pot Shaped Card Template and Cutting file. I cut those with my Cricut, as well. The leaves are a Hero Arts stamp that I stamped on cardstock and cut out.

For the antennas, I used two Prima flowers.

The sentiment is printed on cardstock and it's from  Flower Pot Shaped Card Template and Cutting file.

Here are some photos of our visit to the Duck Creek Blackberry farm  last weekend. Alex had so much fun. We filled a large bucket of delicious blackberries that we ate all week.

I made a Blackberry cobbler for the first time and it was so good. I got a great recipe here, but made some changes as suggested in some of the reviews.

Enjoy your weekend.

{ Elle's Studio June Projects }

The June Inspiration Gallery at Elle's Studio is LIVE! These are my last projects for Elle's Studio. Fun, six months went by pretty quickly and I am sad, but looking forward to the new DT. Elle will announce them on Wednesday.
I love this photo of us at the Bluebonnets in April. I used Fancy Pants Designs paper for the background and some October Afternoon for the layering under the photo. I got the doilies at Michaels not that long ago and I have been using them on everything. I added a pretty Prima jewel to the felt butterfly by Jenni Bowlin.

Here is the view from our over-the-water bungalow in Bora Bora, our honeymoon. I have so many beautiful photos from that trip. I used my new October Afternoon papers. Do you see the doily again? Looks like I used another butterfly, too, Prima flowers, Bo Bunny polka dot stamp and a cute kite stamp from The Stamps of Life.

The card is layered with October Afternoon papers and A Sweet Summer Mini Papers. I was able to find some Martha Stewart die cut doilies, I just love them. I used my hand died, crinkled seam binding.

Make sure you check out the June Gallery and see all the inspiration! Thank you Elle for this wonderful opportunity!!!

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge - Color Red }

Hello and welcome to another Impression Obsession DT challenge. You know, we have chellenges every other week - DETAILS HERE - if you play you could win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store.

For this card I used 2S4Y #54. I used Flourish 1 (F5549) for the background that I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then, I sprayed my card with Scarlet Glimmer Mist. I just love the way that looks. I pleated a strip of October Afternoon patterned paper and used my sewing machine to stitch it on the card over the Elle's Studio journaling tag.

I used seam binding for my ribbon and Prima flower that I sprayed with Scarlet Glimmer Mist. The sentiment is from Anytime Sentiments set (CL43).

I hope you'll take the time to visit the other designers' blogs for inspiration!  Jeanne,  JulieDina, Laura, Deborah, Kathy, Rosemary, and Jenny.

{ Thanks friend }

I finally figured out how to cut my Cutting Cafe' files with my Cricut using Sure Cuts A Lot software. I was so proud of myself and then I found this wonderful video by Christina Thomas.
For this card I used Assorted Banner Templates and Cutting files for the banner, and a frame from Shaped card set. It is so easy to play around with these on my SCAL because you can make it any size you want/need. The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings set and I used my printer to print that.
I embossed the card with new Woodgrain embossing folder from Sizzix (Tim Holtz). I made some of my crepe paper roses and paper leaves.

I am still on cloud nine from the wonderful news about Prima DT. Thank you so much for all the congratulatory wishes.

{ Mojo Monday 142 }

Here is my card for Mojo Monday sketch 142. I am using scraps that were left over...trying to clean up. The card base I made some time ago and I never finished the card I was making. I think the paper is Jilibean Soup. I had this Maya Road envelope, not sure what happened to the top, but I added some scraps of Crepe paper inside. The crepe paper is sprayed with Shimmerz. I have this adorable bird stamp from Prima that I totally forgot about. Love it!

I wanted to share a photo of Alex from last week when we went shopping for flowers.

( Elle's Studio June blog challenge }

This month's challenge is Thank you gifts for teachers. I made a Thank you card with earrings and a decorative pillow sachet.

***We want to see your teacher gifts using Elle's Studio products! Upload it to the web and post your link on the blog, in the comment section OR email us a photo of your project. And, make sure you get them in by the 25th of June. Everyone that does will be entered into a drawing for a $30 gift certificate to the shop! The winner will be announced here on the 25th and we'll be posting some of the entries we receive.

For the card background I used our A Sweet Summer Mini Papers and Triple Scalloped Large Journaling Circle Tag for the sentiment and the flower. The flower is made from sewing pattern tissue paper.

I used a Triple Scalloped Large Journaling Circle Tag to display the earrings that I made. I stamped A Sweet Summer Stamp on the edge, tied ribbon and punched a hole for the earrings.I attached the tag to the bag with a decorative clip.

  I made the little pillow with some fun fabric and I stamped A Sweet Summer Stamp on the outside. I added little buttons to the centers and a ribbon. The little pillow is packaged in the brown sack.

I hope you have time to play this month.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge -summer/beach/nautical }

The challenge was Beach/Nautical, but I messed up and made a Summer card. Oh well, I like it. I used CPS #169 for the card.
I used some of the new Impression Obsession stamps. Cover-a-card Distress Dots (CC046) and Ornate Corner (F5550). I stamped the Distress Dots with Summer Sun Ink and then I sprayed the Ornate Corner with blue Shimmerz spray and stamped it.  I added a doily to the top that I sponged with some ink.
The beautiful butterfly is Dream Butterfly (H1774) that I cut out. I added a button and a flower that I covered with Shimmerz Vibez. The sentiment is from Anytime Sentiments set (CL43) and it's perfect for a Summer sentiment. For a fun embellishment I stamped a sun from Summer Seals (CL107) and cut it in half.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the other designers' blogs for inspiration!  Jeanne,  JulieKathy, Dina, Laura and Jenny.

{ CupCards{to go} June kit ~ Sunrays }

I just wanted to share my creations with the June kit from CupCards {to go}. Kit is on sale NOW. Make sure you check out the DT gallery for more kit ideas. Everything you see here comes in the kit, except the white and brown floss. Those came in one of the earlier kits.

I made the kite by tracing the chipboard shape that came in the kit and then cutting up the papers.

For this card I cut up the chipboard shape and covered it with paper to create the banner. You can see the step by step instructions HERE.
This is my sketch card.
