{ Happy New Year !!! }

I didn't think I would have time to post anything today, the last day of the year. I need to get ready for dinner tonight with friends. I have been working on house projects and nothing scrappy until today. I want to get as much done as I can before the baby gets here. I am trying not to stress out, but I have so many things to finish.
Card Creations: Quick and Easy arrived the other day from Paper Crafts. I was surprised to find out that two of my cards are published in there. I only took a quick look; maybe tomorrow I will have more time to enjoy every page.
Have a great evening and Happy New Year !!!!!

{ Design Team weekly inspiration }

This week's inspiration is to create a place to store your favorite recipes.
I have recipe books and a drawer stuffed with recipes cut out from magazines or written on a scrap piece of paper...There are some that I use more than others and are my favorites. Most of the time I have to hunt for them or can't find the one I want...
I had this little wooden box forever, just waiting to be altered. After I measured, it I found out that an index card (3 x 5") fits perfectly inside. I made my dividers to be slightly larger (3 x 5.5"). Make any tabs you want, after all, this is your favorite recipe box. Now, all I have to do is write my favorite recipes (the ones I use over and over) and keep them all in this box.
This would be a perfect Christmas gift for someone f you play along, upload your creations to the Design Team Weekly Inspiration gallery or post a link to your blog.
Supplies used: Tinkering Ink patterned paper from Beloved collection, 7gypsies stamp, American Crafts alphas.

{ Brrrr....it's cold }

It's finally cold here...it's supposed to be 38 degrees tonight. I was reading the Card Positioning Systems blog and they have a CPS Holiday Special where you pick your favorite past sketch from #1-#42 and make a Christmas/Holiday card. I picked CPS #20 and made this card. The snowflake stamp is from Impression-Obsession. There is a big sale going on right now, you can't miss it. All the clearance items are 50% off. If you like this snowfake stamp, well, it's on sale.
I stamped the snowflake on my white background paper and then I cut one out for my bow accent. You can see a close up below. I love snowflakes and I have numerous snowflake stamps, but no snowflake embellishments, those glittery ones I see all over the place. I did pass a snowflake punch, today, by Martha Stewart, at Michaels. Oh, well. I love the way this one turned out. Vellum is embossed with a snowflake template form Lasting Impressions that I had forever. I added KI Memories ribbon, brads and lace cardstock.
Have a great night and stay warm.

{ Scrappy Hour Playground }

This is the layout I completed last night for the Scrappy Hour at Create My Keepsake. The technique was embossing. I used The Crafters Workshop template to emboss circles on my photo and Stampin' Up brass stencil for the embossing on the red paper. I can't even remember when the last time was that I made a layout. Cards are so much faster.
All the patterned paper is from Beloved collection by Tinkering Ink. The little embellishments came from a container that is sitting on my desk (KI Memories, Creative Imaginations). When I clean my desk I don't know where to put back some of the stuff so I toss them in this little container. I always find good things in there. Maya Road office sheer and Scenic Route chipboard alphas. This is my first pregnancy layout.
OK, I am going to make this an early night, well, I will try to watch 24, season 6, my first two discs arrived in the mail today!

{ Boo-tay package from PageMaps)

Look what arrived today !!! What a wonderful surprise. Becky from PageMaps sent me this awesome boo-tay package for winning a card contest. There is a little bit of everything here. My favorite, Melissa Frances glitter chipboard and stamps!!!! Thank you Becky.
It is really late here and I can't believe I am still up. By this time I am usually relaxing on the couch, watching "Bringing Home Baby" on TLC and feeling my little one move inside my belly.
I was working on a project from Scrappy Hour at Create My Keepsake. The photo is not turning out great so I will have to post it tomorrow. Check out Rachel, our Scrappy Hour queen, for a week long Scrappy Hour Playground video tutorials.

{ Baby Photos }

Yesterday was a memorable experience. Seeing our baby in 3D/4D was amazing. We spent an hour in a very cozy room, watching our little boy move, stretch and make faces. He was cooperating for the most part and we were able to get some awesome images.

{ Cosmo Cricket Biography 101 Album }

Cosmo Cricket is our DT sponsor this month at Create My Keepsake. I received this wonderful album, Biography 101 and Little Boys paper collection. How perfect to start an album for my little boy. This album is going to contain all major milestones and I am calling it "A book of firsts". This required some planning, but once I got my page designs it was easier than I thought. I have three basic layouts and I made sure I had spots for horizontal and vertical photos. Once the baby is here and I have all those photos at least I will have one completed projects and all I have to do is add photos. I have a plan for another little album project and this album is going to record things by months. I took an online class at Srap-A-Faire called All about baby by Janna Wilson and she presented a simple layout album that can be completed in advance.
All the photos are small because I have 20 pages, but you can click on each one for a closer look.

{ Baby's new crib }

After we got the new car on Monday we were able to pick up the new crib. We put it together this week. I am really excited, the room is coming together and I can't wait until it's all finished. We decided that I would paint four more big canvases and several small ones. I am trying to get all that done this week while my husband is home so we can finally decorate the walls. I will share photos when it's all done.
Here is one of me painting. My husband loves to take photos. Each painting takes about three hours and I still have two big ones to finish. It's getting harder to sit, but I enjoy painting. I finished a big project that I will share with you tomorrow...and I have some exciting news that I can't wait to share with you.
